Simplish attempts to have good basic element style coverage, including your varieties of HTML lists:

Ordered lists

  1. contain lists
  2. of numbered things
  3. Can contain sub-lists
    • of other stuff,
    • even in a sub-unordered list
  4. Sublist, ordered
    1. First sub-thing
    2. Second sub-thing
  5. The End

Unordered lists

  • don’t
  • have
  • numbers
  • Sublists might be ordered
    1. which might themselves be lists, in order
    2. whether or not it’s groceries
  • Or not
    • Positive
    • Negative
  • The End, Part the Second

Definition Lists

Definition List
An [X]HTML element that’s handy for word and acronym expansions, descriptions, and, yes, definitions.
UNIX
Isn’t an acronym.
GNU
Is. It stands for GNU’s Not UNIX.
